I cannot believe we are nearing the end of 2017 already. It has been an amazing year and I am so grateful for all of your love and support for my blog. To celebrate the end of 2017, my fellow book blogging friends and I are giving away one paperback to one lucky winner. I have carefully selected my FIVE TOP FAVORITES in 2017 for you to choose.
The Hookup by Kristen Ashley – Standalone, small-town, alpha male, contemporary romance.
For someone who has read almost all of Kristen Ashley’s books thoroughly, I can proudly and honestly say this is one of the best she has ever written. I have enjoyed some of her books, liked some, loved some, and was head-over-heels in love with some, and The Hookup was undoubtedly one of the ones I fell in love with. It is a standalone, full of the awesomeness we’ve loved from Kristen Ashley, which is definitely far from disappointing.
The Hookup follows the story of a thirty-one-year-old, independent woman named Eliza ‘Izzy’ Forrester who was a new resident in a small town in order to avoid her psycho ex-boyfriend who has still hunted her due to her decision for parting ways with him. As a new member in a small town, she decided, one evening, to go to a local bar and start getting to know the community. Instead of mingling with other bar-goers, she, however, ends up spending her time with a man who is the most handsome man she has ever met and found herself later that night having an intimate time with him. Ghosted by J.M. Darhower – Standalone, second-chance, famous actor, contemporary romance.
Guys, I finally got the book I’ve been looking for. This kind of book is the reason I started this blog and love reading romance novels. I always look for stories like this and will always be. The kind of story that rips my heart out and heals it at the end. I loved Ghosted like crazy! If it is not enough to convince you yet, let me tell you what the story is about.
The story follows two teenagers, Jonathan and Kennedy, who were students in a prestigious private high school. Kennedy was a new student at school and was still feeling uncomfortable with her surrounding while Jonathan was a student with a bad reputation who was forced to attend the school he had never wanted. Everyone in school tolerated him merely because of his father’s reputation but it didn’t stop him from expressing his hatred. Continue reading my review
El Diablo (The Devil #1) by M. Robinson – Standalone, contemporary, alpha male, suspense, mafia romance.
As a reader with unsatiable needs for dark, suspense romances, El Diablo is, hands down, one of the best I have ever read in my entire life and, without a doubt, one of my top favorite reads of 2017. The only regret I had was the fact that I just discovered this brilliant author after years of book searching that contained the ‘wow’ factors, all of which this book had. My applause to M. Robbinson for creating this amazing book! It is a complete standalone.
The story follows the man who runs a worldwide mob empire named Alejandro Martinez, who is feared and admired by every living being, who bent laws and had a power over governments, who charmed every woman and got rid everything and everyone with the snap of his fingers. He is untouchable, unpredictable, unimaginably intelligent, seductive, duplicitous, and the legend whom the guys with powers both dreamed to become and wanted to kill. He is El Diablo (the Devil). Before I Ever Met You by Karina Halle – Standalone, forbidden (age difference), contemporary romance.
Wow, what a fantastic love story! Before I Ever Met You is a complete standalone book by Karina Halle. This book is totally different from the most books I’ve read by this author and, hands down, one of the best books I’ve ever read so far. Before I explain in detail what I LOVED about this story, let me tell you what the story is about.
Jackie Phillips is a twenty-five-year-old, single mother with a seven-year-old son who has just recently been back to her hometown in Vancouver after breaking up with her longtime boyfriend and the father of her son. As a young, single mother without a degree, she barely makes ends meet despite having been working two jobs. Determined to give her son a better life, she decides to get back to her hometown, Vancouver, and lives with her parents, even though it is the last thing she has ever wanted to do after what she had put them through in the past. Mists of The Serengeti by Leylah Attar – Standalone, contemporary romance.
I fell head over heels in love with this story. What a powerful, amazing storyteller Leylah Attar is. I cannot describe enough how I felt about this book, although I’ll try my best. This story is the kind of story that you would not just enjoy and love but stayed with you long after you finish reading it. I’m seriously feeling it now. It has the power that the other special books, which have been with me for years, had.
I was moved from the very first page till the last one. The moment I read the first page, I knew that “this is it.” This was what I’d been looking for. The unique, amazing story that reminded me why I loved reading romance novels in the first place. It hit the core in which I didn’t feel I was reading it. I could clearly visualize the moments, live it and experience it with them, as if I were in the story, in her mind, living her life, broken, trying really hard to be strong, to see the best in the situation. Very rarely when words really affected me this way. Continue reading my review
