Angsty Romance

Hi, guys, we are back again to the new Recommend Me Post, and this time we are talking about ANGSTY ROMANCE. Before we talk further about this theme, have you read the previous posts? If you haven’t, please check out the list below. You can recommend me your favorites and check out the awesome recommendations from book bloggers and readers. Don’t forget to check out their blogs as well.

Are you a fan of angsty romance? I am a huge fan. Most of my TOP favorites have great angst in the stories. Here are my TOP favorites:

Thoughtless by [Stephens, S.C.] Maybe Someday by [Hoover, Colleen] The Mighty Storm (The Storm series Book 1) by [Towle, Samantha] The Opportunist (Love Me With Lies Book 1) by [Fisher, Tarryn] Arsen. A broken love story by [Asher, Mia] Collide: Book One in the Collide Series by [McHugh, Gail] True Love Story by [Aster, Willow] Undeniable by [Sheehan, Madeline] 53 Letters For My Lover by [Attar, Leylah] In the Stillness by [Randall, Andrea] A Delicate Truth by [McKnight, Zoe] Love, in English by [Halle, Karina] One True Loves: A Novel by [Reid, Taylor Jenkins]

Now it’s your turn. What are your TOP favorites? 🙂

Renee at Addicted To Romance: Oh, I do love angsty romance. There is something so intense and thrilling about the banter and the fighting and the “making up.” Here are my favorites that I know you would enjoy.

The Hating Game by Sally Thorne Walk Through Fire by Kristen Ashley Fires of Winter by Johanna Lindsey Scandalous Desires by Elizabeth Hoyt Bully by Penelope Douglas The Professional by Kresley Cole Rock Redemption by Nalini Singh Kiss of Snow by Nalini Singh Golden Surrender by Heather Graham Surrender My Love by Johanna Lindsey The Hunter by Kerrigan Byrne In The Warrior’s Bed by Mary Wine The Marriage Bed by Laura Lee Guhrke Darling Beast by Elizabeth Hoyt Season of the Sun by Catherine Coulter Devil’s Desire by Laurie McBain At Your Pleasure by Meredith Duran

Dragonfly at Our Familiarium: Oh wow you can;t tell I’m a neophyte romance reader because I thought all romance stories were angsty! LOL So I could list ALL I have read here but let me try better.. hum…. Beautiful Disaster by Jamie McGuire? Would that qualify? If it does, I think many NA books would!

Beautiful Disaster (Beautiful, #1) Walking Disaster (Beautiful, #2) A Beautiful Wedding (Beautiful, #2.5)

Di at Book Reviews by Di: Oooh. I don’t mind an angsty romance if it is done well! However so often they are just… too much in the angst and that annoys me. 🙂

From the YA world, there’s quite a lot in the angsty romance department (noone does angst better, right?) but the top options would be:

Also And I Darken would fit in here (for me!).

The Mortal Instruments series by Cassandra Clare Hunger Games trilogy by Suzanne Collins  Twilight saga by Stephenie Meyer

I’m a fulltime reader who can’t live without books. In addition to books, I love animals, music, and dance shows. I hope you find your next read through my reviews and lists of recommendations. You can recommend me your favorites as well in my “Recommend Me Books” posts or check them out for awesome recommendations.

  2. I don’t usually do angsty. 😀 But I would agree with Madeline Sheehan. Jay Mclean has a hand for very emotional and angsty books as well. And Penelope Douglas is a good choice.

    Great lists!!!

  3. I love angsty romances 🙂 They bring an extra level of emotions… but between you and Renee, I think most of the ones I really like have already been mentioned. I’ll check my shelves and come back if I find some that haven’t gotten a space in your post 😉
Of course, Renee also had a couple I think I have to check out!

  4. I don’t know that I have read anything that would fit into this category. I have read some hate-to-romance books but I don’t think that qualifies. Thanks for the recs. I guess I need to read one of these to figure out what you mean.

Wow! I love angsty romance as well and many of the books on both your and Renee’s lists I’ve either read or have on my shelves to be read. I adore a book that makes me feel all the feels and angst typically accomplishes just that. Great lists!
