Books That Made Me Cry

Some books left me with a huge smile but some made some marks in my heart and stayed with me long after I finished reading them. The books/series on this list are the ones that have affected me deeply. Since very few books have managed to make me cry my eyes out, I cannot stress enough how special these books are for me.

Before we get into my favorite list, please check out the other posts if you haven’t yet:

If you are in the mood for deep, heart wrenching, beautiful love stories, here are my top favorites.

Lexxie at (Un)Conventional Bookviews: Oh my, Geybie… books that made me cry, eh? There are many, many books that have made me cry, really, some have made me ugly-cry so bad my kids and the dogs were worried… You have mentioned some of the ones that made a big emotional impact on me, and of course, I have some more to share with you.

Lauren at Shooting Stars Mag: I actually kind of love books that can make me cry; it just means I’ve become attached to the story and/or characters. I totally agree with Me Before You from your list -and someone else said it, but If I Stay by Gayle Forman (pretty sure I cried reading that). I’m actually blanking on other ones, but I’m sure there are tons!

If I Stay by Gayle Forman Me Before You: A Novel by [Moyes, Jojo]

Mary at Dark Thoughts: 2 books that made me cry were Acheron and Styxx by Sherrilyn Kenyon. Those two books left a place in my heart. If you haven’t been reading the series you should.

Acheron by Sherrilyn Kenyon  Styxx by Sherrilyn Kenyon

Carole at Carole’s Random Life: I don’t cry over books all too often. I do remember crying over Suzanne’s Diary for Nicholas by James Patterson, even though I wouldn’t have thought that Patterson could make me cry.

Suzanne’s Diary for Nicholas by James Patterson

Sea of Tranquility by Katja Millay The Forest of the Hands and Teeth by Carrie Ryan

Sophia at Delighted Reader: I have the Paulina Simmons trio and the JoJo Moyes’ books on my pile to read. This is going to sound odd, but I love books that make me cry, but I dread them if I know ahead that they are going to do it so I put them off.
